Feature: PatchMon as a PatchManagement System
Just hypothetically speaking, PatchMon already knows which systems need to be updated, so how about if it could also update the system itself?
I'm missing an action function that would allow me to say, OK, I want to click on all hosts, e.g., according to a filter, and then update them... or I want to update an entire host group, or I want to update 50% of a host group. Or a single host. Or I want to schedule jobs, e.g., on Sunday at 2:30 a.m., YX servers from a group should be updated. Or only security upgrades should be installed. Or “safe upgrades” (Debian apt-based) should always be updated automatically...
Or if there is a restart, then the XY system should also be restarted at the same time.
That would be the absolute killer feature for all open source Linux distributions.

@9technologygroup do you have an opinion on how this would be performed? As a first simple pass...
I think I could tackle a very basic contribution to the go agent to run the appropriate "upgrade" command. Then, like the "Fetch Report" ability in the UI, there could be a simple "Upgrade Packages" button the sends the task to be performed.
I'd really like a simple "click this button to upgrade packages on these agents".

Yes, this is in the right lines of how we want policies and scheduling to work within PatchMon.
Having both flexibility and configurable options based on various factors is important to us.
For example specific updates for various host groups etc.
It's the ideas and things we have been discussing as a community and we also cannot wait until that module is worked upon.
I'm closing this as there are quite a few on Patch Management. This is being worked on ;)
