Asking a question or how-to
Questions belong in GitHub Discussions so the answers stay searchable.
Ask in GitHub Discussions
Questions, how-tos and "is this possible" go to GitHub Discussions.
Discussions are public and indexed by search engines, so an answer helps the next person with the same question. An answer given in Discord disappears into scrollback.
What counts as a question
- How do I do X in PatchMon?
- Is X possible?
- Why does PatchMon behave this way?
- Has anyone got PatchMon working with X?
What is not a question
- Something is broken and you can reproduce it. That is a bug. See Where to report a bug.
- PatchMon does not do something and you want it to. That is a feature request. Post it on the Feature Requests board.
If you are not sure which it is, ask in Discussions. We will move it to the right place.
Discord
Discord is for development, architecture and general community chat, and it is the fastest way to reach the team.
It is not a support queue. Questions asked there are not tracked, and the answers are not searchable later. If your question is worth an answer that lasts, ask it in Discussions.
Documentation
Full user documentation is at patchmon.net/docs. Check there before asking, and if the docs are wrong or missing something, that is a documentation fix worth a pull request.
